La Corda D'Oro

La Corda d'Oro was my first anime, so I figured it is only fair that I review it first! :)

  La Corda d'Oro was originally an RPG game directed at the 'shoujo' population. It was later adapted into a manga by Yuki Kure, and then into an anime. The title is Italian, meaning 'The Golden String’ [probably violin string, since that is what the story revolves around].

  It is basically an anime about music, magic and power of love and friendship. If you are into classical instruments, violin, cello, piano, clarinet [You know, the stuff.] La Corda D'Oro is THE anime for you! It has two seasons, Primo Passo and Secondo Passo. But the Secondo Passo ends in a cliff-hanger, since originally, the anime was made just to promote the game.

  Also it happens to have few of the hottest guys of Anime Town, even the two teachers are glamorous!! <3

From left:

Len Tsukimori [one of my future husbands, the other one is Usui Takumi];

Ryotaro  Tsuchiura;

Kazuki Hihara;

Azuma Yunoki;

 Keiichi Shimizu [the blondie].

  The protagonist of our story is Kahoko Hino, the typical anime girl - clumsy, occasionally silly and sweet.
This pic is a clip of the opening theme, Brand New Breeze.

  I don't wanna spoil the fun but here's a bit of  how the story goes, as an amuse bouche: On the first day of school, Kaho-chan, a General Ed student at Seiso Academy, is late. Once at school, she meets a musical fairy and she receives a magic violin. And then the story goes about how she takes part in contests. How she find her best friends in Nami Amou and Shoko Fuyuumi. How the five [HOT, even though Azuma’s a freak] boys fall in love with her, and how she gradually gets attached to the people she’s competing against.

  You probably won't like Kaho at first, because she seems like cheater, what with winning contests by playing a magic violin and all, but as Primo Passo nears the end, you'll see how she actually finds her passion for violin and plays with her heart and soul.

The cast!

  Its one of the most beautiful stories I've ever come across, Its touches your heart! The opening theme, Brand New Breeze, and ending theme, Crescendo, are painfully beautiful, if you know what I mean. It also has some very beautiful pieces like Ave Maria, Salut D'Amour and Gavotte . If you are a musician, you cannot miss these! This series is helpful for anyone who is trying to find his/her own gift, or is trying to rekindle the fire of passion. I myself picked up the violin after watching this show, its THAT inspirational!!

  The scanlated manga isn't that interesting, since the cleaning and redrawing aren't very good. So its a bore. But in case you wanna read instead of checking it out, here's the link: Manga.

  Overall, its a cute anime that anyone can watch, even eight-year-olds! It has slight hints of romance that is really very innocent, and makes you 'Awwh' every single time. If you wanna know about the characters in detail, watch the show, Primo Passo has only 26 episodes. Once you finish watching the show, you are gonna wish it had about 50 more episodes!
